Rise of Ymir is a slot from Hacksaw Gaming, released in 2024, built around a norse, mythology and fantasy theme. You can play the free demo on this page with play money — no account, no deposit — and get a feel for how long each spin takes before any real stake is involved. On our pace scale it lands in the Tempo class, based on how its features stretch or shorten a spin.

How Rise of Ymir plays, spin by spin

Every round of Rise of Ymir is one spin of the reels. Expect a 5x4 grid and paylines as the win rule. Wins are counted along fixed lines, which keeps each spin quick to read. Speed settings change how fast a spin animates, not what it pays, so the maths is the same at any pace.

Which features speed it up or slow it down

The feature list is where round length is decided. Rise of Ymir carries Wild, Multiplier, Free Spins, Scatter, Sticky Symbols and Respins and more. What they do:

• Wild — wilds substitute for paying symbols and fill in near-misses.
• Multiplier — multipliers lift a win after the fact — in Rise of Ymir they are the main source of big results.
• Free Spins — the feature that adds the most minutes to a Rise of Ymir session, since one trigger buys a string of unpaid spins.
• Scatter — scatter symbols count anywhere on the screen and usually open the feature.

Expect free spins to be where your minutes go — the base game is quick, the feature is not.

The numbers: RTP, variance and ceiling

Hacksaw Gaming lists Rise of Ymir at 96.31% RTP, in line with the typical online figure of around 96%; over a short session your result can sit far from that figure. The high volatility rating points to wins that arrive less often but land bigger. The top payout is listed at 15,000x the stake — a headline ceiling that very few sessions will ever touch.

Round speed and session pace

On PayoutClock we time things, so we read every game for pace. Rise of Ymir sits in our Tempo class: medium spins and a swing rating of 4/5. A tempo pace suits medium sessions: long enough for features to land, short enough to stop on a time limit you set in advance. Pair that with a 4/5 swing and short demos of Rise of Ymir can mislead you — one session may look cold, the next hot. Decide on a stop time before your first spin of Rise of Ymir; a visible clock is the oldest responsible-gambling tool there is.

A stopwatch test for the demo

Our withdrawal tests follow a fixed protocol, and the same idea works for Rise of Ymir. A five-minute demo routine:

1. Play 40 spins of Rise of Ymir in demo mode with a stopwatch running and note the total.
2. Compare a base-game session with a Buy Bonus session: the bought feature compresses the wait but spends the bankroll far faster.
3. Compare your Rise of Ymir figure with another game you know: the difference in pace is often bigger than you expect.

Who Rise of Ymir suits

Best for slot players who enjoy a feature chase, risk-tolerant players happy to ride out swings, impatient feature hunters and anyone drawn to norse settings. It sits between quick-round games and long feature slots.
