Hacksaw Gaming released Shave the Sheep in 2020 — a animals, cartoon and farm-themed scratch card. You can play the free demo on this page with play money — no account, no deposit — and get a feel for how long each card takes before any real stake is involved. Rounds here are short by design, and short rounds are exactly what this section of PayoutClock is about.

How a card of Shave the Sheep plays

Scratch cards are pure reveal games. Each card is pre-decided the moment you buy it; scratching (or tapping auto-reveal) just shows you the outcome. In practice the length of a card depends less on the animation and more on how often you stop to adjust the stake.

Features and what they do to round length

Here is what the listed features do to a card of Shave the Sheep:

• Instant Prize — instant prize symbols pay a fixed amount on the spot.
• Match Three — the match-three format pays when three identical symbols turn up.

Nothing here drags a round out; if anything, instant prize makes it shorter. That short list is normal for a scratch card: the format itself is the feature, and there is no long bonus round sitting between you and the result.

The numbers: RTP, variance and ceiling

Shave the Sheep is listed at 53.77% return to player — noticeably below the common 96% benchmark. Treat it as a long-term average, not a forecast for your next session. Because Shave the Sheep lets you place many more bets per hour than a slot, that edge is applied more often in the same amount of time. With high volatility, expect wins that arrive less often but land bigger. Shave the Sheep caps wins at 75,000x your bet: a headline ceiling that very few sessions will ever touch.

Shave the Sheep on the stopwatch

Our pace profile rates Shave the Sheep as Sprint — one-tap cards, swing 4 out of 5. That is an editorial reading of the listed specs for Shave the Sheep, not a timed test. Sprint games pack a lot of decisions into a few minutes. That is the attraction, and also the risk: it is easy to play far more rounds than you meant to. With high volatility the first few minutes of Shave the Sheep say little; give the demo a proper run. Whatever the pace, give Shave the Sheep a session length in minutes and stop when it is up, win or lose.

A stopwatch test for the demo

We time cashouts in three splits; you can time Shave the Sheep in three steps:

1. Clock 20 cards of Shave the Sheep at the stake you would really use, and stop the watch at the last result, not when you get bored.
2. Record the starting and finishing balance. Over one short test it is luck, over a few tests it starts to show the game's character.
3. Turn the result into a spend rate (cards per minute × stake × minutes); if the figure looks big for Shave the Sheep, shorten the session.

Who should try it

It suits players who want a result in seconds rather than minutes, risk-tolerant players happy to ride out swings and fans of animals themes. If you want a slow, feature-rich session, a long-form slot will suit you better than Shave the Sheep.
