Nolimit City released Fire in the Hole 2 in 2024 — a mining, fantasy and gold-themed slot. You can play the free demo on this page with play money — no account, no deposit — and get a feel for how long each spin takes before any real stake is involved. We file it under the long-form pace class: feature rounds can stretch a single trigger into a long sequence.

What happens in one spin

The core loop in Fire in the Hole 2 is the classic slot cycle — stake, spin, read the result, repeat. It runs on a 6x3-6x6 grid and ways-to-win wins. With ways-to-win you only need matching symbols on neighbouring reels, not on a fixed line. Turbo or quick-play settings, where the game offers them, shorten each spin further but do not change the odds.

Which features speed it up or slow it down

The feature list is where round length is decided. Fire in the Hole 2 carries Expanding Grid, Tumble, Buy Bonus, Wild, Multiplier and Scatter and more. What they do:

• Expanding Grid — an expanding grid adds rows or columns as you go.
• Tumble — a winning spin keeps refilling until no new win forms — a built-in time stretcher.
• Buy Bonus — in Fire in the Hole 2 you can buy your way into the feature, trading balance for time.
• Wild — wilds substitute for paying symbols and fill in near-misses.

The mix pulls both ways: tumble add time, buy bonus take it away.

The numbers: RTP, variance and ceiling

The listed RTP is 96.07%, in line with the typical online figure of around 96%. RTP is a long-run average over a very large number of spins; a short session can land far above or below it. The very high volatility rating points to long dry spells broken by rare large wins. The top payout is listed at 65,000x the stake — a headline ceiling that very few sessions will ever touch.

Fire in the Hole 2 on the stopwatch

On PayoutClock we time things, so we read every game for pace. Fire in the Hole 2 sits in our Long-form class: extended spins and a swing rating of 5/5. Long-form games reward patience. A single feature can run for a while, so give the demo a proper session before judging it. Pair that with a 5/5 swing and short demos of Fire in the Hole 2 can mislead you — one session may look cold, the next hot. Use the demo to count how many spins you play in five minutes; multiply that by your stake and you know your real hourly spend rate.

How to test Fire in the Hole 2 in five minutes

We time cashouts in three splits; you can time Fire in the Hole 2 in three steps:

1. Play 40 spins of Fire in the Hole 2 in demo mode with a stopwatch running and note the total.
2. Compare a base-game session with a Buy Bonus session: the bought feature compresses the wait but spends the bankroll far faster.
3. Compare your Fire in the Hole 2 figure with another game you know: the difference in pace is often bigger than you expect.
