Made by Nolimit City, Mental 2 is a horror, gothic and dark slot that first went live in 2025. Press play on the demo and Mental 2 loads in the browser with play-money credits; nothing to install and nothing to sign up for. On our pace scale it lands in the Long-form class, based on how its features stretch or shorten a spin.

How Mental 2 plays, spin by spin

Every round of Mental 2 is one spin of the reels. Expect a 3-2-3-2-3 grid and ways-to-win as the win rule. With ways-to-win you only need matching symbols on neighbouring reels, not on a fixed line. In practice the length of a spin depends less on the animation and more on how often you stop to adjust the stake.

Which features speed it up or slow it down

Mental 2 lists 8 features in our data; these are the ones that matter most for pace:

• Expanding Grid — the grid expands as the round progresses, opening more positions.
• Buy Bonus — in Mental 2 you can buy your way into the feature, trading balance for time.
• Free Spins — the feature that adds the most minutes to a Mental 2 session, since one trigger buys a string of unpaid spins.
• Sticky Wilds — wilds that stick hold their spot across the next spins.

The mix pulls both ways: free spins add time, buy bonus take it away.

The numbers: RTP, variance and ceiling

At 96.06% RTP the theoretical house edge is 3.94% per unit staked, in line with the typical online figure of around 96%. Volatility is very high, which usually means long dry spells broken by rare large wins. Mental 2 caps wins at 99,999x your bet: a headline ceiling that very few sessions will ever touch. Hit frequency is listed at 31.41%, so roughly 31 spins in 100 return something (not necessarily more than the stake).

Mental 2 on the stopwatch

On PayoutClock we time things, so we read every game for pace. Mental 2 sits in our Long-form class: long spins and a swing rating of 5/5. Long-form games reward patience. A single feature can run for a while, so give the demo a proper session before judging it. Pair that with a 5/5 swing and short demos of Mental 2 can mislead you — one session may look cold, the next hot. Use the demo to count how many spins you play in five minutes; multiply that by your stake and you know your real hourly spend rate.

Time it yourself: a demo protocol

Our withdrawal tests follow a fixed protocol, and the same idea works for Mental 2. A five-minute demo routine:

1. Start a timer and play 50 spins of the demo at your normal speed. Note how long it took — that is your personal round speed for Mental 2.
2. Run one test without buying the feature and, if you like, a second with Buy Bonus — the gap between the two sessions shows how much time the buy saves and how much balance it costs.
3. Compare your Mental 2 figure with another game you know: the difference in pace is often bigger than you expect.

Is Mental 2 for you?

Best for slot players who enjoy a feature chase, risk-tolerant players happy to ride out swings, players who would rather buy the feature than wait for it and fans of horror themes. Short on time? The instant-win section has rounds that finish in a tap.
